Hello friend,

How about this July, we all vote to add laughter to our company's wellness program? A good belly laugh might cure more stress symptoms than that free yoga class.

If your company doesn't have one yet, Corporate Wellness Week gives you the opportunity to bring it up. Maybe starting with a team event that connects, strengthens, and relaxes everyone. Find some examples here.

This week wasn't created to host a spa day for the whole company. The focus is on employees' wellbeing.

It's built through small moments in your day-to-day. A workplace where people feel safe to speak up. A good laugh with colleagues. A heartfelt thank you. Simpler approaches that leave us with more energy. Taking time to create something just because it brings joy.

Let's talk about it.

SOUND BITE

Wave Therapy for Work

Let this video's rhythmic crash of waves replace office noise. The steady pulse of the sea and its endless horizon create a calmer atmosphere while encouraging your eyes to look beyond the screen. Curious why water feels so relaxing? Scientists explain it here.

AWARENESS BITES

The Secret Fuel is Play

July teaches us how fun, creativity and wellbeing go together. Laughter and play aren't just distractions; they are the fuel that keeps you going when things get tough. Making time for fun actually builds the mental strength you need to handle stress better.

BITES OF THE MONTH

The Thrive & Giggle Agenda

Simply Simplify

International Simplification Day is a good excuse to ask yourself: “What could be simpler?”

Pick just one thing. A cluttered drawer. A repetitive task. An overcomplicated routine. Small changes often stick better than ambitious plans to reinvent everything overnight.

Work Without the Worry

Resilient employees need a safe space at work. Encouraging this means they can ask questions or take risks without fear of losing their job or damaging their reputation.

A healthy work culture flourishes on people speaking up, learning from mistakes, and working together. Find initiatives that help build a safer workplace for everyone here.

Get Crafty Before You Get Cranky

We're happy to have Create Week. We believe that humans truly thrive when they create, in any form at all. It hits a deeper level, makes us happier, and recharges us.

Whether it's putting together a standup comedy set, doodling while talking to a friend, a few brushstrokes on a canvas, strumming a guitar, DIYing a bathroom cabinet, or experimenting in the kitchen, you've got this.

A Simple Thank You

It can brighten someone's day by saying thank you to people who do a good job, whom you appreciate, or who are kind to you. It takes a lot these days to keep up the energy, and we can be a part of it.

Lasting Laughs

Need a good laugh? This video never stops being hilarious!
There are only two good falls: falling in love and falling off a chair while laughing too hard. Preparing this issue brought us both. We fell in love with the topics and were searching for the perfect joke for you. There are different kinds of humor, but one thing is certain: Jokes are there to make us laugh and uplift us, not to push down or humiliate us.

Here it comes:

"What's big, green, fuzzy, has four legs, and will kill you if it falls out of a tree? A pool table*."

*No pool tables were harmed in making this joke.

PRODUCTIVITY BITE

Untangle Your Day

Reacting to what life throws at us daily can create quite a bit of clutter. Sometimes it helps to Marie Kondo your whole life, not just your storage space, by asking yourself: "What sparks your joy?" Then, set priorities and act on them.

There's no need for perfection, though; even Marie Kondo noticed that after having kids. In a world of endless to-do lists, it's too easy to lose focus.

And if we're not able to see clearly through the noise and the overwhelm hits, we narrow everything down to one simple question: “Can I do this one thing?” We mean even the tiniest task, like putting a cup in the dishwasher, opening one letter, or tidying up one little corner. Asking yourself this question over and over suddenly makes things get done.

TECH BITE

Say More with Less

Emojis help us express complex feelings with a simple symbol when words fail, turning potential conflict into connection through digital body language. The hieroglyphs of our times act as micro-moments of emotional safety, helping to soften criticism, celebrate achievements, and express gratitude.

Text messages can lead to misunderstandings, and emojis can too. For millennials, a thumbs up means "that's nice," while Gen Z finds it passive-aggressive. It's important to keep communicating clearly to stay on the same page.

Some of us might remember the early days of texting, when keyboard symbols became expressions of emotion. A colon, a dash, and a parenthesis became :-) to show a smile.

But smileys existed even before the digital age — we're talking 19th century, and in handwriting even before that. The German philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein discussed how well some symbols can express so much in so little space.

BOOK BITES

Comedic Tragedies

Katherine Furman

Turning a classic musical into emojis sounds completely ridiculous… until you realize it actually works. This clever little book retells The Phantom of the Opera through tiny symbols and "text messages", challenging you to test your emoji literacy as you decode each page. Funny, surprising, and delightfully nerdy, this epic story might just change the way you look at the little icons on your keyboard.

Gavin Aung Than

Great ideas rarely arrive fully formed. Through thoughtful comics inspired by famous quotes, Gavin Aung Than shows us that history's greatest artists, writers, and thinkers also struggled with doubt, failure, and frustration. Even a giant like Albert Einstein felt stuck sometimes. With full background stories, it becomes a true motivator that creating something meaningful is often beautifully messy.

BANANA SPLIT

Tiny Internet Treats

Just little proofs that the internet is still weird, playful and worth exploring.

Be surprised, amused and get lost in Floor796, where your favorite cartoon and movie characters find a new home. The genius artist has spent seven years building this massive, interactive animated platform.

Forget expert panels. This year, a cat, a penguin and an octopus are making their own World Cup predictions. Are they qualified? We have no idea. Are we listening anyway? Obviously. In July, we'll see if they were right.
